Tax Preparation in Lynbrook, NY
Bring your tax documents and questions to KP Stein, a family tax practice in Lynbrook. Your income, household, and financial activity can change from one year to the next — tell us what is different this year so we can discuss the information relevant to your return.
Individuals & families
Wages, a home, children, a brokerage account, a parent you help support. The ordinary return that stops being ordinary the year something changes.
Self-employed & side income
Schedule C, 1099-NEC and 1099-K income, home office, mileage, quarterly estimates — and the question of whether an entity would serve you better.
Multi-state & moved this year
Part-year residents, commuters, remote workers whose employer sits in another state, and anyone with rental property beyond New York.

Everything on the return, explained in plain English.
Business, estate and trust returns are discussed case by case — mention them when you book.
How it works
In the office, by phone, or entirely through the secure portal. New clients: bring last year's return.
Gather
The appointment checklist tells you exactly what to bring. Missing something? Bring what you have.
Prepare & review
Katherine prepares the return and reviews it with you — what changed, why, and what to watch next year.
Sign & e-file
You sign electronically; we file. Your copy lives in the Client Center whenever you need it.
Before you book
Do I need to come into the office?
No. Many clients upload documents through the Client Center and review by phone. Others prefer the desk. Either works.
What if I didn't file last year?
Bring what you have. Prior-year returns are prepared alongside the current one, and as an Enrolled Agent Katherine can correspond with the IRS on your behalf.
Is this the same as planning?
Preparation reports the year that happened. Planning shapes the one ahead. Most clients start with one and add the other when life gets more complicated.
