Meet Our Team
Meet the people behind KP Stein, our family tax practice in Lynbrook. Learn about the team's backgrounds, individual responsibilities, and qualifications before your next tax preparation or planning conversation.

Katherine Piscopo Stein
Katherine graduated from the University of Notre Dame, which is also the reason she will not take calls on football Saturdays.
She earned her MBA from Adelphi University while working in corporate finance, and later completed her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and IRS Enrolled Agent designation, along with her securities and insurance licenses.
Katherine brings together tax, investment, and financial planning experience to give clients long-term, comprehensive guidance. She enjoys helping families make sense of the moving pieces of their financial lives — and hopes that someday her own children will find their way into the family business in some capacity.
The office
Lori Magliano
Our sainted redhead and office manager, Lori holds a degree in accounting from Nassau Community College.
She keeps the office running smoothly with a smile, and somehow manages to make payroll, bookkeeping, and client relationships look easier than they actually are. Lori is a big part of what makes the practice feel like a family business — and keeps the rest of us moving in the right direction.

Christopher Truncellito
Chris is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional who joined the team in 2021, and he believes every client's financial life is different, so their plan should be too.
He sees taxes as one of the most important considerations in a sound retirement plan, and takes extra care to analyze how each client's specific situation affects the overall picture — serving as a single point of contact for investments, insurance, and estate coordination. As a fiduciary, Chris always puts his clients' interests first, and he is currently pursuing his Enrolled Agent designation so he can offer integrated tax preparation as well.
Outside the office he spends summers on the beaches of Long Beach with his fiancée, Jaclyn, and fishes, hunts, and golfs the rest of the year. He is also training for his first IRONMAN triathlon.

Milorad “Miki” Sobot
Miki is a seasoned financial advisor who holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. Originally from Serbia, he came to the United States on a soccer scholarship to pursue his education and his dream of playing college soccer.
While attending Siena University he met his wife, Olivia, who also played soccer — and, according to Miki, much better than he did.
Miki enjoys helping people make smart decisions with their money, navigate the complexities of taxes and planning, and ultimately keep as much of their hard-earned income as possible. He believes good financial planning should make life simpler, not more complicated.
Nicolas Magliano
The next redhead in the office, Nick is completing his accounting degree while pursuing additional education, certificates, and licenses in long-term financial planning.
As the newest member of the family business, Nick is learning it from the ground up — and, if all goes according to plan, will be keeping the family tradition going for years to come.
What the letters mean
Enrolled Agent
A federal tax credential issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Enrolled Agents earn it by passing a three-part IRS examination or through qualifying IRS experience, and keep it through continuing education and a background check.
The part that matters to you: an EA has unlimited practice rights before the IRS — Katherine can represent you on audits, collections, and appeals, not just prepare the return.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®
Granted by the CFP Board to professionals who complete coursework across the planning disciplines, pass a comprehensive exam, log qualifying experience, and commit to a fiduciary standard of ethics.
Not every member of the team holds it — ask the office which person is the right contact for your question.
